Week in Review, March 19 – 25, 2012

LPTW’s Blog30 was created to highlight the diversity, passion and brilliance of the individual members of the League of Professional Theatre Women in celebration of the organization’s 30th Anniversary. As theatre artists, administrators, and crew, we often work on productions that morph, develop and/or change mid-stream; Blog30 is no different, and so was born the Week in Review.

Every Sunday, the women featured in the previous six days, as well as three others from our first two months, will receive a little more attention, a second chance for readers to learn about them. Sunday is often a day for reflection, offering the opportunity to catch up on the previous week’s activities. Now, the Week in Review gives our readers the opportunity to experience a week’s entries in one easy sitting. We hope you enjoy the latest addition to Blog30.

A YEAR-LONG, DAILY BLOG, HIGHLIGHTING A MEMBER-A-DAY

The League of Professional Theatre Women, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2012 with Turning 30: Celebrating Our Legacy, Creating Our Future, announces Blog30, a new blog highlighting the energy & accomplishments of its 400+ members.  The blog launched its first daily entry on January 1, 2012.

Developed & administered by League members Susan Bernfield, Melanie Sutherland, Shaun Bennet Wilson & Lanie Zipoy, Blog30 celebrates the individual women, engaged in a broad range of theatrical disciplines, who make up the League, each with a story to tell & a distinct point of view.  In their featured entries, members respond to a series of trigger questions – both serious & silly – designed to help them reach beyond their bio to talk about what inspires or entertains them in a deeper, often more idiosyncratic way.   “As a longtime member of The League of Professional Theatre Women, I am constantly astonished by the diversity & creative talents of its members,” says Sutherland.  “We created Blog30 to showcase each members’ achievements, as well as their interests & I‘m thrilled that so many women have been eager to participate.”
